In May of 2011, Laura Lidbeck Baker ’71stood alongside 84 math and science teachers in the East Room of the White House awaiting the arrival of President Barack Obama. Science Whiz: Amanda Senanayake '13


Amanda Senanayake '13 is already a making a name for herself in the science world. She was one of a small number of students chosen to present her research at the 49thConnecticut Junior Science and Humanities Symposium at the University of Connecticut.

April Manhertz '10 Leadership


Most college students have jam-packed schedules, but April Manhertz’s days are dizzying. A junior at Cornell University, she is Executive Vice President of the Class of 2014, VP of Public Relations for her sorority, and has been Director of Business Operations for “Into the Streets,” Cornell’s largest day of volunteerism. Julian Rosenberg '04 Ph.D Candidate


Julian Rosenberg '04 is focused on one thing these days: algae. The once-curious Chase Middle School science student is pursuing his Ph.D. in chemical and biomolecular engineering at Johns Hopkins University. Simultaneously, Rosenberg is applying his research interests in sourcing biofuels from algae at a biotech company, called Clean Green Chesapeake. More >>
