The Boys Junior Varsity Basketball team at Chase is offered to all boys in the Upper School. Chase has a long standing tradition of having one of the most respected programs in New England and several of it's elite players have come through the junior varsity team. The JV plays a complete schedule of 15-20 games and competes against most of the school's the varsity plays against.
Karl Schwoerke heads into his 18th season of coaching basketball and 12 of them at the junior varsity level.
"My goal as a coach is always to focus on a player's strenghths while working on the weakensses so that they eventually become strengths," says Schwoerke who also coaches varsity soccer and varsity ultimate frisbee at Chase. "With JV basketball, I want to prepare each kid with the hope that they will, at some point, be able to become valuable contributors to the varsity program. "
