Baseball is one of the first programs Chase had when it opened in 1865 and it is safe to say that the program is alive and well. The Varsity Baseball program is a member of two leagues: Connecticut Independent School Athletic Conference (CISAC) as well as the Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL).
The Highlanders have claimed 20 league titles over the years in each conference. The CISAC championships came in 1996, 1997, 200, 2001, and 2002) while the HVAL titles were in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2008.
According to legendary coach, Ray Behr the program has been fortunate to have such dedicated players: "We have kids who always want to improve and love competing," said Behr. "Our winning tradition is because the kids understand the value of hard work and know what it takes to win."
