Beyond the completion of Cornerstone Campaign Two, Chase will continue raising funds for a number of ongoing capital projects that will help the School compete in the marketplace by providing a safe, vibrant and environmentally-sustainable campus. Below is information about those projects:
The Project: This project reconfigures Chase’s playing fields to maximize the number of games and practices that can occur simultaneously and renovates the Kellogg, Templeton and Woodward fields with state-of-the-art natural fields.
The Benefit: With an Upper School student body that has increased over 40% since 2007, and with 42 teams playing 13 sports, field enhancements will support increased playing time by our student athletes and coaches and strengthen our recruiting program among Chase’s peer schools. Operationally, we will have improved playability and player safety. These enhancements will serve to build school spirit and pride among students, families and alumni.
Campus Maintenance Complex
The Project: This project eliminates the deteriorating structures currently located in the front of campus and builds a new facility behind the Upper School. The new Campus Maintenance Complex will provide a centralized yet inconspicuous headquarters and will reduce the wear and tear on our existing equipment and vehicles by providing covered spaces.
The Benefit: Eliminating the existing maintenance sheds greatly enhances our “front yard” and opens up this area of campus for an Early Learning Center. This new building, in turn, will consolidate the disparate Pre-K3, Pre-K4 and Kindergarten classrooms into one coordinated setting. Furthermore, effective maintenance of Chase facilities is critical to assuring a safe and healthy learning environment.
Campus Pathways Project
The Project: This project will replace all of our asphalt sidewalks with beautiful stone pathways.
The Benefit: Improved pathways will enhance the campus “curb appeal” for present and prospective families, improve student safety and complement our beautiful campus and the recent capital projects that have enhanced campus grounds, such as the new front entrances and Linky’s Place, the new pavilion by the pond.
