Leadership Giving

The Leadership Societies

The Leadership Society was created over a decade ago by a small group of parents, alumni, and grandparents who believed that Chase is one of the greatest opportunities that a parent can offer their child. This group distinguished their giving by committing to a gift of $1,000 or more each year to ensure that Chase’s academic, athletic and artistic programs not only remain strong, but are enhanced for the benefit of each and every child enrolled at Chase. Over the years, leadership giving has advanced into a series of societies to recognize leadership contributions at many financial levels.

The Leadership Society $1,000
150th Anniversary Society $2,015
Berkeley Hotchkiss Society $5,000
Pauline S. Fairbanks Society $10,000
Head's Society $25,000

Today, Chase is proud to recognize over 100 individuals each year whose exemplary gifts provide current students with a thriving academic community where every child is known.

The Value of a Leadership Gift

Chase relies on the generosity of the members of The Leadership Societies to help keep a Chase education affordable and to hire and keep accomplished teachers who are deeply committed teaching and knowing their students.

Last year, members of The Leadership Societies donated $330,362 to the Annual Giving program. These collective donations represent 68% of all annual gifts, ranging in size from $1,000 to $25,000.

Members of The Leadership Societies quite often share that they have made Chase their charitable priority because Chase shines at shaping the lives of young people and preparing them for their future. By joining a Leadership Society, and by renewing your gift each year, you make a powerful, lasting statement about the value of a Chase education, often inspiring others to give more generously of themselves.

Leadership Gifts Can Be Made In Several Ways
  • Donors may write a personal check that is 100% tax deductible. Credit card donations (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express) are also accepted.
  • Some donors find it easier to make a leadership gift by creating a monthly pledge through a cash or credit card donation. (ex. $100 a month from September to June)
  • Some donors find it advantageous to make leadership gifts of appreciated securities.
  • Many corporations offer matching gift programs that often double or triple donations from their employees. Your company’s matching gift will be added to your personal gift.

Recognizing Leadership Donors

Members of The Leadership Societies are invited to a private reception at Winvian in Morris, CT each fall, receive invitations to other special events and receive a quarterly Insider’s Letter from Headmaster John Fixx.  In addition, Leadership donors are listed on a special page in the Annual Report that is sent to all members of the Chase community.
