From the moment you set foot in the Upper School, you will take part in exceptional college preparation, both in and out of the classroom. Each family will work with a seasoned college counselor to design a plan that is tailored to each student’s unique strengths, goals and dreams. Together, you will create a successful strategy for course selection, standardized testing and develop a list of colleges that are the most suitable. You will also assemble a highly competitive application that includes compelling essays/personal statements and co-curricular accomplishments.  Our goal is for each student to choose the institution that is the most ideal fit, so that you can continue your journey filled with a positive disposition for learning, and a lifelong love of creativity, curiosity and wonder.

The college advising process at Chase is designed to introduce students and their families to the importance of course selection, academic achievement and co-curricular involvement as early as the freshman year. Parents and students are encouraged to become familiar with the College Office throughout their time at Chase to help them develop a relationship with their college counselor and work together to ultimately select a college in the senior year that will best fit the student’s individual talents, interests, and aspirations. The college advising process timeline outlines the four-year process of college selection.

The Capstone Project presents the opportunity for qualified rising seniors to complete independent work on an original, cross-curricular project of their own design. Students conduct their research both on and off campus, and this includes tapping the expertise of noted specialists in their topic of choice.

To apply, students must demonstrate academic excellence and independence in coursework through the fall semester of their junior year. A minimum cumulative GPA of 88 is required for application, and our Project applicants must present examples of successful independent long-term project work.

A Capstone Project will be included on a student’s transcript and be awarded one full elective credit, will receive a numerical grade each quarter, and will be computed in a student’s GPA.
