Chase's Girls Cross Country team is a member of the Housatonic Valley Athletic League (HVAL) and Connecticut Independent Secondary Athletic Conference (CISAC) has earned the reputation as one of the more dominant programs in the Houstaonic League as the girls have won league championships in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007,2009, 2010 and 2011 and 2012. In the CISAC, they have won the championship in 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2006 and 2009. The program is also fortunate to have a co-ed middle school team and that acts as a feeder program to the varsity. At the middle school level the athletes learn the proper techniques and strategies of running and competing.
Due to the successes in recent years, the interest has been on the upside as the Chase students have taken notice and want to be part of the winning.
"We have always had great kids in the program," says head coach Ray Behr. "Our kids are competitive and are always looking for ways to improve on a daily basis from workout to workout."
