HVAL Champions: Boys Cross Country Win the 2018 Housatonic Valley Athletic League Championship

The Boys Varsity Cross Country team were crowned 2018 HVAL Champions this past Monday, 11/5.  The Boys dominated the field with 5 runners finishing in the top 13 spots.  The Highlanders were led by 11th Grader, Ethan Puc, who put in a commanding performance with a time of 15:48, a minute and 7 seconds faster than the second place finisher.  10th Grader, Rafael Mahario, came in third with a time of 17:51 while 8th Grader, Tommy L., finished in 9th with a time of 18:48.  10th Grader, Colby Calabrese, finished in 11th followed by Senior Captain, Robby Jones in the 13th place.  Ethan, Rafael, and Tommy achieved All HVAL status with their top 10 finishes.  This was the Boys first league title since 2014. 

The Girls Varsity Cross Country team also saw great success through 9th Graders Loren Tuck, who finished in 6th and Eliza Slevinsky, who finished in 10th.  These finishes gave both Loren and Eliza All HVAL Status.
