Posted 01/05/2018 10:59AM

Happy New Year!

There is so much to look forward to in 2018; but we would be remiss if we didn’t take this opportunity to thank the entire Chase Community for their support of our Arts Program! As a re-cap, we...

* we will have a copy of the program for you to download at the end of the month, captured and edited by our own student-driven Media Arts Department

A component of our mission as a department is to offer appreciation, choice, skills, and connections with the medium of art as a team of talented professionals connected within the community. The musical theater program for the Spring semester is being developed with this objective in mind!  Look out for more info in the coming weeks as visual, performing, and media arts collaborate on:

  • Lower School Musical Theater  -  “Seussical KIDS”

  • Middle School Musical Theater  - “Disney The Little Mermaid Jr.”

  • Upper School Musical Theater  - “GYPSY” is presented by arrangement with TAMS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC.

Have you ever heard the statement, “The Power of Music” used? There have been a lot of studies suggesting that music can improve health outcomes.  And with all the New Year’s Resolutions highest rankings attributed to losing weight, healthy eating, life and self improvement... Do we have an opportunity for you!!

Love Songs is an annual concert presented by the ARTS Department in the Giguere Recital Hall. This cabaret-style event will be held this year on Wednesday, February 7th at 7:00 PM. The show this year will open and close with a performance by the Upper School Chorus. Mark your calendars today!

We are looking for any Upper School student, faculty or staff member who would like to participate no later than Friday, January 26th. Please email Jennifer Zembruski at jzembruski@chasemail.org to register. You do not need to be in choir/band, or a professional musician - this is an opportunity to share your talent and voice/song with the Chase community. Solo, Duets or Small Groups numbers are welcome!

An accompanist will be provided; but if you prefer to perform with a track - the accommodation can be made. There is a mandatory rehearsal on Thursday, February 1st from 3:15 - 5:00 PM in Giguere. We are looking forward to hearing from you and seeing some new faces!
