Weekly All School Bulletin
In Conceptual Physics students wrapped up their unit on Projectile Motion by testing their prowess with a sling shot ball launcher, outside on a beautiful spring day.
Teams of students designed reproducible launch protocols to determine their projectile's launch velocity and predicted range. A friendly completion ensued with teams vying for the most accurate and reproducible result. The winners earned the respect and admiration of their peers
(and were treated to some delicious cookies purchased from the Lower School Bake sale!)
(The runners up got Jolly Ranchers as a consolation prize.)
At Chase Collegiate School, frequent experimentation and an inquiry-based approach to learning science is utilized right from the start so that students can draw upon their powers of observation and gain confidence as they learn to think out loud, to discuss their ideas and collaborate with their peers toward a common goal.
What a gorgeous day to enjoy learning outside!
